On 12 August, we will be celebrating International Youth Day. For this day, Violet shares a reflection on the Josephite Action Group (JAG), a community of young volunteers.
As we look around our world, we see countless challenges that demand our attention and action. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed, to believe that one individual’s efforts couldn’t possibly make a difference, but this is where young minds, hearts and fresh passion can take a stand.
That is why JAG is so important today, to empower and guide young people towards a journey of action and social justice. In the footsteps of St Mary MacKillop, St Joseph, Fr Julian Tenison Woods and the Sisters of Saint Joseph, we foster a community of courage, passion and inclusivity.
Through volunteering, mentorship and collaborative initiatives, JAG aims to advocate and enact positive change in our world, upholding the Josephite legacy.
If you want peace, take action and make an effort to make a difference. St Mary MacKillop’s life teaches us that change begins with one person, one act of kindness, and one commitment to a better today.
